Real Salt Lake and KFC Restaurants are proud to announce that the popular KFC Colonel’s Corner will remain a fixture for the 2009 season in the new Rio Tinto Stadium, with the partnership being renewed on a multi-year basis.
KFC Colonel’s Corner vouchers are always available for purchase at each of the 35 participating KFC locations across the Salt Lake area, a full list of which can be found by clicking on the KFC Colonel’s Corner link in the “Fans & Sponsors” section of www.RealSaltLake.com.
“KFC has been an outstanding partner and supporter of Real Salt Lake since the club’s beginning, and we couldn’t be happier to be teaming up with them for future seasons as we kick off a new era for sports and entertainment in our community,” said RSL President Bill Manning. “Our fans have taken advantage of the KFC Colonel’s Corner in increasing numbers during the last three seasons, and the southeast corner at Rio Tinto Stadium will be regularly packed with even more RSL fans beginning in 2009.”
At its new locale, the KFC Colonel’s Corner – southeast corner sections 6 and 7 – is capped at 800 seats for each event, with the vouchers being seated on a first-come, first-served basis. Attempts will be made to honor vouchers in other seating areas around the stadium once the Colonel’s Corner reaches its capacity, depending upon ticket availability for that event.
The new KFC Colonel’s Corner in Rio Tinto Stadium provides fantastic value with its lower-bowl location immediately next to the field, delivering a unique and much-improved experience for fans sitting in KFC’s signature section.
“The KFC and RSL promotional partnership has grown during each of the four years, and proves to be one of those rare “win-win” situations where both sides truly benefit from the arrangement,” said Bruce Garner, Regional Director, Harman Management KFC. “We look forward to growing the relationship and offering fans great value as RSL moves into the beautiful new Rio Tinto Stadium.”
The KFC Colonel’s Corner vouchers for the 2009 season will carry a $20 price – a $5.00 savings – as KFC’s generous support continues to allow fans the opportunity to purchase those seats at a 20% discount over traditional walk-up buyers. In addition to this popular ticketing program, KFC continues to activate their sponsorship at Real Salt Lake games with exciting new versions of the “KFC Kickin’ for Chicken Halftime Contest,” a brand new “Bucket Brigade” booth in the East Lawn’s Carnival Real, and a number of other entertaining promotions that will be introduced throughout the 2009 campaign.
