Real Salt Lake Selects Midfielder Elijah Amo in Second Round

HERIMMAN, UTAH (Thursday, January 21, 2021) – Real Salt Lake selected midfielder Elijah Amo out of the University of Louisville in the second round of the 2021 MLS SuperDraft presented by adidas with the 34th overall pick.

“We are elated to welcome Elijah to the Club,” RSL Assistant General Manager Tony Beltran said. “Elijah is an dynamic attacking player that our staff had identified high on the list of potential targets. We look forward to welcoming him to Salt Lake in the near future.”

Amo appeared in 54 matches during his four years with Louisville, scoring six goals and adding one assist. In his senior season he started in all six matches and scored a team-leading three goals.

He joins current teammates Andrew Brody and Tate Schmitt as Louisville alumni to join Real Salt Lake.
