Corey Baird Scores Fastest Goal In Rio Tinto Stadium History

SANDY, Utah – Real Salt Lake couldn’t have had a better start to their final regular-season home game with Corey Baird scoring a goal in less than a minute.

It’s the fastest goal in Rio Tinto Stadium history and the second-fastest goal scored in Real Salt Lake history.

The goal came just 35 seconds after the match started and gave RSL a 1-0 lead over the Houston Dynamo.

Baird slipped past defender and slotted the ball on the right side of the goal past the keeper.

The second-year forward scored his fifth goal of the season and the 13th of his young career.

RSL needs to win the game in order to secure a spot in the upcoming MLS Cup Playoffs. They will finish the regular season portion of their schedule on October 6th in Vancouver against the Whitecaps.

The match between RSL and the Houston Dynamo can be streamed on or the KSL TV app.
