SANDY, Utah – (Thursday, December 19, 2019) – Real Salt Lake in conjunction with Major League Soccer announced its full regular season schedule ahead of the 2020 season today. RSL will play 14 of the 17 home matches on Saturdays, with all 34 regular season matches slated to be televised locally on KMYU, the KSLTV app and KSL.com.
RSL will play 34 matches, two against each of the 12 Western Conference opponents and one against 10 teams in the Eastern Conference. RSL will not face D.C. United, NYCFC or the Chicago Fire in 2020. As previously announced, RSL opens the regular season on the road on February 29 against Orlando City SC before the home opener on March 7 at Rio Tinto Stadium against New York Red Bulls. RSL will see three nationally televised matches in 2020 with the first coming on May 23 against the LA Galaxy before a June 6 bout with FC Dallas and a June 20 match against Houston.

FRONT LOADED HOME SCHEDULE
Real Salt Lake will see eight home matches played by May 23 with three of those matches coming against opposition from the East. RSL will welcome the New England Revolution on March 21 before welcoming expansion side Inter Miami CF on April 29.
APRIL CLASH WITH SEATTLE
After visiting 2019 Shield Winner LAFC on April 28, RSL will host the defending MLS Cup Champions Seattle Sounders FC on Saturday, April 25 as it looks to avenge its loss in the 2019 Western Conference Semifinals. The matchup will be televised locally on KMYU, KSL.com and the KSLTV app.
BUT FIRST, THE EAST
The Utah club will see its first four matches come against Eastern Conference opposition. After facing Orlando and Red Bull, RSL visits Columbus Crew SC on March 14 then welcomes New England on March 21. RSL will face its first West opponent on March 28 when it visits Sporting Kansas City.
SPRING NIGHTS = HOME ADVANTAGE
Rio Tinto Stadium will host six home matches between April 11 and May 23 as the club looks to build upon its league-best home record of 110-28-83 (413 points) since 2009. RSL boasted the second most home wins of any team in 2019, playing to a 12-4-1 (53 points) record. That home record will be put to the test when RSL hosts three playoff sides from last season during the April 11 to May 23 stretch – Seattle (April 25), Portland (May 9) and LA Galaxy (May 23).
IT ENDS IN SANDY
For the first time in since 2017, RSL will close out its regular season at home, facing LAFC on Sunday, October 4 during MLS Decision Day in the club’s lone Sunday home match of 2020. The last time RSL hosted a Decision Day match, it walked away 2-1 victors over rival Sporting Kansas City.
